The MTagger application uses the URI of a web page to associate tags. We've included some javascript in each catalog item display an iframe. Inside the iframe, MTagger is asked for tags associated with the Aleph item's permanent link. If there are any existing tags (see, for example, http://mirlyn.lib.umich.edu:80/F/?func=direct&doc_number=005562576), the tags are pulled in and displayed. If not, you see the "Be first to tag this item message" -- for example, http://mirlyn.lib.umich.edu:80/F/?func=direct&doc_number=004255100.
